Are there certain books and tools that you recommend for relationships?

There are many tools that individuals and couples can use to work on their relationships, or decide what to do when a relationship starts to fail.  Here are tools with which I’ve worked and had success.

A.  For those having trouble in their relationships, and trying to decide what to do, I suggest the following:

  • Too Good to Leave, Too Bad to Stay: A Step-by-Step Guide to Help You Decide Whether to Stay In or Get Out of Your Relationship by Mira Kirshenbaum (Paperback – Jul 1, 1997)
  • Getting the love you Want by Harvill Hendrix (also audiotapes available)

B.  If you are struggling with feeling good about yourself, or in an abusive relationships, or I suggest the following:

  • The Fear Book: Facing Fear Once and for All by Cheri Huber and June Shiver (Paperback – Sep 1, 1995)
  • The Depression Book: Depression as an Opportunity for Spiritual Growth by Cheri Huber and June Shiver (Paperback – Sep 1, 2004)
  • There is Nothing Wrong With You Going Beyond Self-Hate by Cheri Huber
  • The Little Inspiration Book: Ideas to Empower Women by DEB (Paperback – Jul 6, 2006)

If drugs or alcohol are involved, I suggest attendance at  Al-Anon, AA, NA, or other 12-step programs.  Use google to search for meetings in your area.

Attendance at:  Landmark Forum  (www.landmarkeducation.com)

C.  For those still working to repair their relationship (provided you have a partner that also wants to save the relationship), I suggest the following:

  • Couple’s Comfort Book: A Creative Guide for Renewing Passion, Pleasure and Commitment by Jennifer Louden (Paperback – Feb 1, 2005)

Many of the books can be purchased from the following:
